President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with globally recognized essayist, academic and author, Professor Adebayo Williams, as he turns 70 September 9, 2021.
The President salutes the almost 50 years of scholarship, university teaching, and contribution to public discourse that Prof Williams has tucked under his belt, extolling him for being a source of inspiration to the younger generation, and a pride to the country.
Noting that the multiple award-winning writer, after years of teaching at the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) took his intellectual prowess to Europe and America for many decades, President Buhari says Prof Williams has used his God-given endowments for the good of humanity round the globe.
Rejoicing with the Williams family, the academia, friends and acquaintances of the celebrated writer and teacher, the President wishes Prof Williams longer life, good health and greater contribution to scholarship and sharing of knowledge.
He encourages the newspaper columnist not to relent in addressing issues of governance very crucial to Nigeria and Africa.

PRESIDENT BUHARI HAILS BUBA MARWA AT 68
President Muhammadu Buhari felicitates with Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Muhammad Buba Marwa (Rtd), on his 68th birthday, September 9, 2021.
The President congratulates the former military Governor of old Borno State and military Administrator of Lagos State on the auspicious occasion, joining members of All Progressives Congress (APC) to rejoice with the public servant, who continues to distinguish himself in leadership.
President Buhari notes the fillip in the war against drug abuse and trafficking, with commendable results, appreciating Marwa’s dedication to repositioning the NDLEA, sanitizing the streets and re-orienting youths on dangers of substance abuse.
The President affirms that the track record of the former Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse (PACEDA) and Ambassador to South Africa and Kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland, has been inspiring, reflecting his passion, training and experience, both local and international.
At 68, President Buhari believes Marwa’s patriotism and diligence have left imprints on the country, showing both old and young the way to go.
